At the gates of the forbidden city

they sat,

quiet and peaceful

said nothing.

did nothing.

hunger, thirst, sleep,

none of it mattered to

the now ghosts of the forbidden city.

they sat in silent protest.

hurting no one,

taking the initiative.

all they wanted was a revolution

away from the communist rule.

and yet.

their silent voices

peaceful actions

the angels of Tian An Men square

all they wanted

was peace and freedom

but all the got was

massacre
